Chairman Technical Committee of Lagos State Football Association LSFA, Adedotun Coker has congratulated Flamingos following their 4-3 victory over USA in the quarter final of FIFA U-17 women world cup taking place in India.
Nigeria this afternoon booked a place in the semi final after defeating USA 4-3 on penalties after one goal apiece at the regulation time.
Coker in a chat with sports 247.ng described the victory well deserved and commended the girls for their doggedness and fighting spirits exhibited throughout the pulsating tie.
“It was a victory for Africa and Nigeria indeed.The victory showed that our girls were determined, focused and hungry for success.On behalf of Lagos FA, I congratulate our junior women national team for making the country proud at the world stage and I wish them success in their remaining matches,”he said.
Coker however reminded the players and coaching crew not to lose focus and ensure that they win their remaining matches.
He urged the Flamingos to target the final and win the trophy saying that anything shot of victory twould be a huge disappoinment to soccer loving Nigerians.
