In-form Chukwueze, Fulham Face Manchester City Test Today, Aim to Build on Impressive Run

Fulham will aim to build on their impressive weekend victory over Tottenham Hotspur when they host former champions Manchester City at Craven Cottage today, with Nigeria internationals Samuel Chukwueze, Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey expected to play key roles.

Chukwueze, fresh off a man-of-the-match performance in the 2–1 win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is set to retain his place on the right flank.

The winger provided the assist for Fulham’s opener and delivered one of his most influential displays since arriving at the club.

The 26-year-old has now registered three assists this season, with his growing confidence reflected in improved creativity and dribbling numbers.

Iwobi is also expected to keep his spot in midfield after a consistent run of form.

The Super Eagles star has produced two league assists, created 20 chances and completed more than 400 passes with an accuracy of nearly 83 per cent.

His work rate and transitional play remain central to Marco Silva’s tactical setup.

Bassey is set to continue at centre-back alongside Joachim Andersen.

The defender has won 51 duels, made 22 tackles and maintained 88 per cent pass accuracy this season, underlining his increasing reliability.

His defensive organisation will be vital as City’s dangerous frontline visits west London.

Fulham sit 15th on the Premier League table with 17 points from 13 matches.

Their home form has been encouraging, with four wins and just one defeat at Craven Cottage this term.

Manchester City, second with 25 points, arrive with signs of inconsistency.

Pep Guardiola remains without Mateo Kovacic, while Rodri is still battling for full fitness.

City have struggled away from home, winning only two of their six league matches on the road.

Despite City’s dominance in recent meetings—winning the last five in all competitions—Fulham’s Nigerian trio enter today’s clash in strong form, giving Silva’s men renewed belief as they look to upset the title contenders.
