Omeh Collins, an emerging attacking midfielder from Sunshine FC of Nsukka, says he is ready to take the next big step in his career as he prepares to travel to Asia this month for his first international trials.
In a brief chat ahead of his departure, the Nsukka-born playmaker expressed excitement about the opportunity to showcase his abilities on a new stage.

“This is a big moment for me,” Collins said. “It’s my first time leaving the country for football, and I’m ready to prove myself abroad. I know what I’m capable of, and I just want to give everything during these trials and show my value.”
Known for his sharp vision, close control, and ability to unlock defenses with decisive passes, the Enugu State native has been a standout performer for Sunshine FC in recent seasons.
His performances have drawn the attention of scouts, ultimately leading to this opportunity overseas.
“Coming from Nsukka, it hasn’t been easy,” he added. “But I’ve stayed focused, worked hard, and I believe this is just the beginning of something bigger.”
While the specific club and country in Asia remain under wraps, club sources confirm that Omeh Collins will spend several weeks undergoing evaluation with top-tier teams.
His coaches and teammates at Sunshine FC have expressed full support, backing him to succeed and encouraging him to carry the banner for homegrown talent.
“Omeh Collins has always had something special,” said a senior team official. “We believe in him, and this trial is proof that talent from Nsukka can go global.”
As Collins sets off on his international journey, hopes are high that he will not only secure a deal but also serve as inspiration for other young talents from grassroots Nigerian clubs.
