She noted that their encouragement had been instrumental in her success both on and off the field.
“I am deeply humbled by this acknowledgement and inspired to continue contributing to the growth and development of our beloved state.
This honour serves as a reminder of the responsibilities we all share in fostering progress and unity within our community,” Ordega said.
She extended special thanks to the Governor of Benue State, members of the State Executive Council, and all those involved in the decision to recognisze her where she was given a state reception after helping the Super Falcons to 10th WAFCON titles and personally winning five of the 10th at Morrocco 2024.
According to her, the gesture reinforces her commitment to striving for excellence and giving back to the community that shaped her.
The Super Falcons forward, who has represented Nigeria in multiple FIFA Women’s World Cup and African Women’s Cup of Nations tournaments, reaffirmed her dedication to uplifting Benue State through her work and influence.
“You guys made this happen. I see y’all, I hear y’all, and I love y’all,” she added, while using the hashtags #BenueYouths, #Benue, and #Unity to underscore her message of togetherness.
Ordega, who was conferred with the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in recognition of her contribution to Nigerian football, assured that she would continue to serve as an ambassador for the state and the country.
She concluded by expressing optimism that, working together, the people of Benue State can achieve greater milestones.
