Onabolu further disclosed that the competition among students from various schools across Lagos, which is now in its third edition, is sponsored by Quomodo Systems Africa and aims to nurture emerging talent among young swimmers.

While disclosing that the second leg will hold on June 6th at same venue, Onabolu stated that the secondary school category is divided into junior (ages 10-14) and senior (ages 14-17), in freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and individual medley events.

He added that the championship aims to strengthen swimming development and provide a structured pathway for young swimmers to grow competitively, through participation, teamwork and excellence among age-grade competitors.

“We have worked tirelessly with our sponsors to create a solid platform where young swimmers can compete, develop and enjoy the sport. The event is a two-leg league format, creating sustained engagement for schools,” Onabolu submitted.
