The head coach at Ikorodu City FC of Lagos, Bright Ozebagbe has revealed how excited he was after his side got a mouth-watering 2-0 win away to Warri Wolves of Delta State in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL).
Sports247 reports that it was indeed a stunning result, as Wolves are currently looking good in fourth spot on the NPFL log, but third-placed Ikorodu City took them to the clean at their backyard.

Ozebagbe took another look at the run of play after the game in Warri and pointed out that two of his biggest plans materialised in the encounter – which is ‘score goals but don’t concede any.’
The soft-spoken tactician retorted, “The boys are working hard, and we are happy that we’ve been consistent with tactical discipline. But we still want to continue improving with each game.
“We know we can score. So, this season, we want to emphasise on not scoring goals. The boys have been keeping to this plan, and we can only try to get better.”
He then spoke about the importance of last weekend’s away win, which he believes was a morale booster ahead of their next game at home against 16th placed Plateau Unted of Jos.
Ozebagbe added, “Every match has been progressive for us, and every point is important, especially from this away victory. We go back home with all three points, which shows that the boys have been consistent, and they are growing into the league.
“Let’s not forget that it’s a team in transition. So, the players need such moments and time to put things in order. So far, we are happy with our performances, but how we react to this moment is also very key for us.”
He concluded by expressing satisfaction with the efforts of his goalkeeper, Michael Atata, and the defenders, who he said are expressing very well his strategy of not conceding goals in each match as the season progresses.
“We saw what our keeper did and how the defence covers him. We thank God for all we are doing so far. This is what we planned. We are happy that they are executing it and we are seeing positive results,” Ozebagbe concluded
