Ikorodu City FC Clamp Down BYT in Pre-Season Friendly Match …Coach Bubagha Speaks On Team Performance

It was a beautiful evening at the Teslim Balogun Stadium Surulere where the pre-season friendly took place between the Ikorodu City and the BYT of Lagos.

The match kick-off at exactly 16:00 hours West African Time, as both teams hit hard in front of their fans.

Thanks to the 18th-minute opening goal scorer that saw the ball inside the goal net by the Ikorodu City player.

The match was a friendly one but a second-through pass came from the Ikorodu center-forward man that took the BYT goalkeeper unaware to secure their second goal.

In the 90 Plus additional minutes, a penalty was awarded to the BYT boys that took the ball right inside the goal post, and the final whistle sound was blown by the referee which gave the Ikorodu City a 2-1 victory.

In an interview with sport247, the BYT coach, Richard Bubagha said;

” The match is not a bad one, the team itself is only two weeks old and the match is organized to access all the players. As you can see a lot of substitutions were made because a total of twenty-eight players were used.
Coach Richard said.”

” The match officials really did a good job because all the goals the opponent scored against us was a well-deserved one.

And likewise, the penalty we got was a deserving one, it was obvious.

” At least if am to rate the performance of the boys today I will give them a fifty percent because as said earlier the team is only two weeks old so we’re trying to get a full team among the players. He added.”

” I believe that our next outing will be much better and with a better team. We will work on the boy’s mistakes and make all the needed corrections as soon as week get back to the drawing board in other for them to be fit and play professionally. He concluded”.

The match ended 2-1 in favor of Ikorodu City.
