Ikeja DFA Boss Hails Dannaz For Winning Lagos FA Cup

Chairman Ikeja Divisional Football Association, IDFA, Rafiu Alagbe says the victory of Dannaz against Ottasolo on Sunday evening was well deserved.

Dannaz from Ikeja defeated Ottasolo FC 3-1 in yesterday’s BETWGB/Lagos FA Cup final to emerge the champions of the state.

Alagbe while speaking with Sports247 expressed delight with the performance of Dannaz against their opponents. He said the final had lived up to expectations but noted that Dannaz deserved to be crowned as worthy champions.

“This is a fantastic play by Dannaz. They are a youthful side and played their opponents without respect. This is what I have been clamoring for that football of today lies on youth and Dannaz has shown us that the future of football in this country lies on grassroots players and team,” he said.

Alagbe explained further that Dannaz did not only play but the players stick to coach game plans which worked for them.

He also noted that the players played like a team and they have a winning mentality which they displayed against Ottasolo.

“After scoring the third goal, they still want to score more. This is to tell you that they are final not by chance or accident but they are final for business. What can I say than to congratulate my brother and the chairman of Dannaz FC on this victory? I would not forget the backroom staff led by Fatai Smith Akande for working tirelessly and ensuring that Dannaz deliver the trophy for us,” he said.

Alagbe said Dannaz has brought glory to the Ikeja division by winning the trophy and charged the teams under his division to learn from Dannaz.

“My division would still host the team and we are going to invite all the clubs that are affiliated with us to ask the coaches what did they do to win the cup. We would allow our club representatives to ask many questions about Dannaz success. It is going to be an interactive session where secrets of success of Dannaz would be revealed to us,” he said.
