Ikechukwu Ezenwa: Vincent Enyeama is my inspiration

Nigeria Super Eagles goal keeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa has declared that former Eagles goalie, Vincent Enyeama is his goal keeping inspiration.

Ezenwa has made 21 appearances for the Super Eagles since his first call-up in 2015.

In a chat with the NFF media via Instagram, Ezenwa said he admires Enyeama alot.

“Vincent Enyeama is my mentor. He inspires me alot and I admire him so much. He plays in big games like nothing is at stake, he’s self confident and has self believe. I fell in love with his goal keeping because he’s always calm. We chat, talk and I seek advice from him.”

The 2008 Beijing Olympics silver medalist advised young goal keepers to be 100% in all ramifications.

“Goal keeping is interesting; you wear different jerseys from the rest of the team but you have to give it your all. Concentration has to be 100%. Even if you make mistakes, you don’t allow it weigh you down and you have to build lots of self confidence.”

Ikechukwu Ezenwa who is currently with NPFL club, Heartland FC of Owerri has won bronze medal with the Super Eagles at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
