Ijaball Begins European Career With Win Over Top Of The Table Portuguese Giants

Former head coach of Remo Stars, Daniel Ogunmodede, now with CD Feirense in the Portuguese second division saw his first game on duty end in a win over Benfica B side on Tuesday who are currently top of the table.

The Santa Maria Da Feira-based side ran into an early lead over the league leaders in the 11th minute courtesy of a goal from striker Kerwin Vargas. After a long drab period, the second goal came from a well-taken kick from the spot from midfielder Manuel Jorge Silva and the hosts were looking to run away with a clean sheet till a 94th-minute consolation from Araujo for the leaders.

The CD Feirense assistant coach recently stated in an interview with Sports247 that he’s in Portugal to do his job and to learn as well.

“I can say I’m here to learn because the little time I’ve spent here already showed me a lot of things I can learn which I’m gathering as much as I can, I’m here to do my job as well, no man is an island of knowledge, Ijaball is an institution that is open to learning, I’ll see how much I can learn and in the nearest future, interpret to help our football in the country (Nigeria),” Dan told Sports247.

CD Feirense are currently second on the Portuguese LigaPro table with 32 points from 16 games, one behind league leaders Benfica B and would look to steal the top spot before the season runs out.
