Igoh Ogbu Describes UCL Loss To Tottenham As ‘Tough, Good Learning Experience’

Slavia Prague of Czech Republic defender, Igoh Ogbu has described his team’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur of England in the UEFA Champions League as a ‘tough, good learning experience’ for himself and his team, Sports247 reports.

The Super Eagles’ fringe centre back, who previously played for Songdal and Lillestrom of Norway, further admitted he felt bad giving away a penalty that helped Spurs get one of their goals, but consoled himself with his high ratings.

Ogbu dusted himself up and promised a better show in forthcoming fixtures, with a view that the Czech champions can still revive their continental campaign, though the current statistics do not favour them.

The ratings dropped pretty low, as Jindrich Trpisovsky’s side remain without a win in their last 17 UCL games and have now gone 14 matches without getting a single victory in major European competitions.

Ogbu and his teammates have also become the first team to fail to score in five consecutive UCL fixtures, since AC Milan of Italy suffered the same unsavoury fate in October 2023.

Despite all the odds, Ogbu is staying upbeat, as he told Flashscore: “(The defeat to Spurs) is a tough one. To be honest, it was really a tough game for us and a good experience. I’m okay with it.

“I think (the penalty call) is a fair decision. For me, it’s all a learning process. I wasn’t happy to concede a penalty for my team. I think it’s a work in progress, and it’s part of the game.”
