Ighalo to take pay cut in Man Utd permanent move …as Shanghai Shenhua offers bumper deal

Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo, 30, will have to take a £200, 000- a week pay cut if he wants to turn his loan move to Manchester United from Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua, where he was on £300,000- a week, into a permanent switch.

The Chinese giants are refusing to bulge to Manchester United offers as they seek to keep hold of thier star man by offering him a two years contract extension to make him the highest paid African if signed.

Odion Ighalo’s 2-yr contract extension of £400k+ per wk by Shanghai Shenhua:

• His contract expires 2022 but they want him till 2024
• Man U loan expires May 31
• He’s waiting for Man U before accepting the offer
• He will become highest paid African player.
