Ighalo Cherishes Scoring Five Goals Against Libya

Chanchun Yatai of China striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is basking in the euphoria of scoring five goals in two back-to-back matches of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, but says it is all through the grace of God.

After following up his hat-trick of Saturday’s first leg 4-0 win against Libya with a brace in last night’s reverse fixture, sports247.ng reports that Ighalo declared that it was made possible because God is the greatest.
Having also scored a penalty in Nigeria’s second match of the qualifiers, a 3-0 win away to Seychelles last month, Ighalo is now leading scorer in the race to Cameroon 2019.
On Tuesday, Ighalo’s 14th and 81st minute goals took his total in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers to six goals from three matches, an average of two goals per game.
He has scored more goals than all the African players involved in the qualifiers and all the Eagles’ players combined, and ahead of several top stars from across the continent.
Red Star Belgrade’s Comoros forward El Fardou Ben Nabouhane and Anderlecht’s Zimbabwe star Knowledge Musona are on four goals to place second.
Six players have found the net three times for their countries, including Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah, but Ighalo leads the pack.
For three years now, the Eagles have never lost or drawn a match in which Ighalo found the back of the net, beating Cameroon and Libya on two occasions, Luxembourg and Seychelles.
However, while relishing his feat, the former Lyn Oslo of Norway, Udinese of Italy, Granada of Spain and Watford of England star did not forget to  give credit to The Almighty, and stated:”God is the greatest.”
