Igando Comes Alive On Sunday, As 8th Prince Gas Cup Final Holds At Sansan Field

All roads will on Sunday lead to Sansan Field, Igando, Lagos for the final of this year’s Prince Gas Football Competition, with trophies in two age categories at stake, Sports247 reports.

The competition, which is fondly called Ramadan Cup, because it normally holds during the Muslim fasting period, has held the pitch spellbound on a daily basis for a whole month.

Organised by Prince Sulaiman Gbadamosi, this year’s competition is the eighth edition, and expectations are high that Sunday’s climax will be more exciting than all others before it.

Grassroots football fans are expected to start gathering early at the wide sandy arena that lies two streets away from the royal father’s palace, as the day’s first game will kick off at 2pm.

It will be a dress rehearsal of sort for the main event, yet prestige and glory will also be at stake, as Sharp Strikers FC of Igando tango Super Accurate Football Academy of Ikotun in the under-10 final of 8th Prince Gas Cup.

Sports247 gathered that it promises to be a pulsating game, as Sharp Strikers will be comfortable playing on their home ground, while Super Accurate are the defending champions and want to retain the trophy that they won last year.

Super Accurate’s coach, Idris Oseni declared, “We took first in the competition last year and we want to win it again. My captain, Adeniji Jamal and the other players are ready. They have all prepared very well, so that we can win the match.”
