She opens up about the hurdles she’s had to overcome as a female athlete, shedding light on the obstacles many young women face.

Although her parents support her chosen career, the discouragement she’s encountered from certain family members hasn’t deterred her.

“I’ve faced numerous challenges,” Omotola explains. “My parents are very supportive, but some family members question the purpose of a girl playing football. I don’t let their opinions weigh me down; I keep pushing, confident that I’ll achieve my goals.” She said in an interview with Sports 247 at the International Day of the Girl Child Tournament.

Balancing the demands of both football and school has been far from easy, yet she’s committed to making it work. For about two years, she’s been an integral part of the Flourish Football Academy, an experience she describes as challenging but rewarding.

Her passion for the game keeps her moving forward, despite some challenges with the team. “I’m content with my career because of my deep passion for football,” she says. “But given certain team-related challenges, I wouldn’t say I’m entirely satisfied. Still, my love for football keeps me going.”

Omotola recognizes the significance of events like the International Day of the Girl Child Tournament, not only for footballers but for all young girls. “These events encourage us to pursue our dreams and stand strong in what we do.”
