IBRO-PECKHAM Marlian Cup: Mama of Africa FC Edge Integrity FC on Penalties To Reach Semi-Finals

Mama of Africa FC booked their place in the semi-finals of the 8th edition of the Ibro-Peckham Football Marlians Competition after a dramatic 5–4 penalty shootout victory over Integrity FC, following a 1–1 draw in regulation time. The quarter-final encounter was played on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at the N.U.D Playing Ground, Olose (Champions Arena).

The game was fiercely contested from the opening exchanges, with both sides showing intent despite challenging circumstances. Mama of Africa, popularly known as the Santos SA Boys, began the match with 10 men due to the late arrival of some players, a setback that tested their resilience early on.

Integrity FC capitalised on their numerical advantage and took the lead in the 42nd minute through Fadare Ifeoluwa, who produced a moment of brilliance by volleying the ball from outside the box into the net to give his side a deserved advantage heading into the break.

Mama of Africa responded strongly in the second half, growing into the game despite the earlier disadvantage. Their persistence paid off when they were awarded a penalty after a clear handball in the box. Komolafe Samuel stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to restore parity, setting up a tense finale.

Late drama followed as Mama of Africa captain Fatai Yusuf missed a golden opportunity to win the match in normal time, heading wide from close range in the dying minutes. His visible disappointment reflected how close his side came to sealing victory before penalties.

With no further goals, the match was decided from the spot. Integrity FC faltered early in the shootout as Mama of Africa’s goalkeeper produced a crucial save to deny their first kick. The shootout eventually swung in Mama of Africa’s favour when Damilare Samuel confidently converted the decisive penalty, sparking celebrations among players and supporters.

Mama of Africa’s progression continues an impressive campaign. The Santos Boys had earlier emerged from a highly competitive “group of death” before edging Great Vision FC 2–1 in the Round of 16. Their resilience and fighting spirit once again proved decisive as they march into the last four, keeping their title ambitions firmly alive.
