Ibrahim Musa takes responsibility for Pillars shocking loss to Rangers

Kano Pillars gaffer, Ibrahim Musa has taken responsibility for the team’s loss to Enugu Rangers in the final of the 2018 Aiteo Cup on Wednesday.

Pillars allowed a three-goal lead to slip off their grip as the game finished 3-3 after 90 minutes before Rangers won 4-3 on penalties at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Musa acknowledged that some players let him down in the second half after they failed to consolidate on their first half performance.

“It was a very surprising result to us all because I told my players during the halftime break that they must not relax because football is not decided by the outcome of only one half,” he said in a chat with Sports247.ng.

“I was not happy when we started having injury problems.”

“The loss to Rangers is a lesson to me. I take responsibility for the disaster.

“The fans weren’t happy with final outcome. I’m using this medium to apologise to the Kano State Government, management of the club, the people of Kano and Pillars supporters,” he added.
