In a remarkable show of motivation and leadership, the club’s Sporting Director, Tobi Adepoju, immediately fulfilled his financial promise to the squad after the hard-fought encounter.
Ahead of kickoff, Adepoju had challenged the players with attractive incentives—₦500,000 for keeping a clean sheet and ₦100,000 for every goal scored.
With the Oluyole Warriors securing victory while maintaining defensive solidity throughout the match, the players earned a total of ₦600,000, which was handed over shortly after the final whistle.
“Personally, I promised the players ₦500k for a clean sheet and ₦100k per goal. And I gave them the ₦600k after the game yesterday,” Adepoju revealed.
The instant reward has reportedly boosted morale within the squad as the NPFL season enters a crucial stage, while also strengthening the growing bond between management and players.
Shooting Stars were widely praised for their tactical discipline, fighting spirit, and resilience against a determined Barau FC side. The defensive unit in particular earned applause for standing firm under pressure to secure the valuable clean sheet.
Supporters of the historic Ibadan club are expected to see the gesture as a major morale booster capable of inspiring more committed performances in the remaining matches of the campaign.
With the league race becoming increasingly intense, moments like this continue to reinforce unity, motivation, and belief within the 3SC dressing room as they push to finish the season strongly.
