Agu Chidozie, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2025 Island All Stars Sports Club (IASC) Above 45 Football Tournament, has described his passion for the game as one that runs through his blood, after inspiring Team Lush to a hard-fought victory.
Team Lush, representing Lush Nightclub, defeated Team Akuruolo 6–5 on penalties following a 1–1 draw at full time to lift the trophy at the Lagos Business School Lekki Lagos on Saturday 20 September 2025.

Agu Chidozie, who confidently converted his penalty kick, was instrumental in his team’s triumph and was deservedly crowned MVP of the competition.
Speaking to reporters after the final, the veteran expressed his joy at the achievement, noting that determination and passion were the keys to his performance.
“I play with my heart, my spirit, and my blood. I give everything on the field, and this victory is a dream come true,” he said.
Agu Chidozie shared insights into his long football journey, recalling how he started playing at a young age and represented notable sides, including Enyimba.
He also revealed that he once traveled to Cotonou for a professional screening but was hindered by injury.
Despite setbacks, his resilience has kept him active well into his 40s.
“I thank God I still have the strength to play at 45. Even at 60, I believe I will continue to play with energy and passion,” he added.
The MVP winner expressed gratitude to his teammates, fans, and the organizers of the tournament for making the event a success.
He further dedicated the victory to everyone who supported Team Lush, promising more achievements in the future.
