He may be only seven years old, but Onyekachi Chidi is already making waves in English youth football. The dazzling young attacker helped Manchester United U7 lift the prestigious Turf War Cup, lighting up the tournament with his flair, confidence, and sharp finishing.
From his very first game, the Nigerian wonder kid stood out — dribbling past opponents twice his size, showing maturity beyond his years, and scoring key goals that powered the Red Devils to the title.

After the final whistle, an energetic yet humble Onyekachi summed up his joy in the simplest way.
“I just love football!” he said, beaming with excitement. “I love playing, scoring goals, and making people happy.”
But what makes this story even more fascinating is that Onyekachi also trains with Manchester City’s academy, part of a special development program designed to nurture versatile young talents. That means the prodigious youngster is currently developing under both Manchester giants — a unique opportunity that most players can only dream of.
Coaches from both clubs have reportedly been impressed by his balance, quick feet, and fearless attacking style, describing him as a “natural-born footballer” who always wants the ball and thrives under pressure.
Though still years away from making a professional decision, one thing is certain: Onyekachi is destined for something special.
“He listens, learns fast, and plays with joy,” one academy coach shared. “He’s got that spark you can’t teach.”
Whether he grows up to wear City blue or United red, the future is bright for this young Nigerian talent who’s already bringing smiles — and silverware — to Manchester.
