The boxing competition at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, came to a close on Monday, November 10th, with Nigeria’s Zainab Adeshina Motunrayo proudly claiming a Silver Medal in the Women’s 51kg category.
Adeshina, one of only two Nigerian boxers at the Games — alongside Raheem Ridwan (Men’s 65kg) — was led by Coach Oyeleye Abayomi and showcased tremendous skill, composure, and grit throughout the tournament.

“I gave everything for my country. Winning silver means a lot, but I’m not stopping here. This is motivation to go harder — next time, I’m coming for gold.”
Coach Oyeleye Abayomi hailed her fighting spirit, describing her as “a disciplined athlete who embodies the future of Nigerian women’s boxing.”
Her silver medal finish places Nigeria 9th on the boxing medal table at the Games — a solid performance that highlights the nation’s growing strength in the sport.
With boxing now concluded, other events at the Islamic Solidarity Games are set to wrap up on Friday, November 21st, 2025, but for Team Nigeria, Zainab’s resilience and passion have already made her one of the standout stories of the tournament.
