In a statement on Monday, the former Plateau United shot-stopper described the decision as a huge relief, though he acknowledged that investigations into the wider case are still ongoing.

“I am relieved to announce that the League Management Company has cleared me of the betting accusations, allowing me to register with any club,” Adeyinka said. “Although investigations are still ongoing, I am grateful for the support I received during this challenging time.”

The goalkeeper took time to appreciate the Nigeria Association of Footballers (NAF) Player Union for what he called their “unwavering support.”

He also extended his gratitude to his former employers Plateau United, as well as Kwara United and Akwa United, for standing by him when he needed it most.

Adeyinka further acknowledged the encouragement he received Dosu John.

He also referenced Davidson Owunmi, whose actions he said negatively impacted his career, but from which he has drawn “valuable lessons.”

In addition, the 26-year-old praised fellow goalkeepers across the country for their solidarity during the ordeal, noting that their messages of support gave him strength.

With his name now cleared, Adeyinka is free to pursue fresh opportunities in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) or abroad as he looks to revive his career and continue competing at the highest level.
