Less than 24 hours after his departure was confirmed, Zubairu was unveiled as the new head coach of Sudanese Premier League side Al Ahli Madani on a two-year contract.
The former Flying Eagles coach replaces veteran Sudanese manager Farouk Jabra and will lead Al Ahli Madani in both the domestic league and the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Reacting to his appointment, Zubairu expressed delight at taking on another challenge in African football.
“Joining Al Ahli Madani is a great honour and a new challenge for me.
” This is a club with a proud history, passionate supporters, and lofty ambitions. I am eager to work with the players, management, and fans to build a competitive team capable of achieving success, especially in the CAF Confederation Cup,” he said.
Zubairu has continued to build an impressive coaching profile across the continent since his time with Nigeria’s Flying Eagles. His latest appointment is seen as another significant step in his managerial career.
At Al Ahli Madani, the Nigerian coach will be tasked with challenging for domestic honours while guiding the club in continental competition as they seek a successful CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
