I almost abandoned music for Basketball – Burnaboy

Professional Nigerian singer and songwriter, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, known popularly known as Burna Boy has revealed his admiration for basketball after news broke of LA Lakers legend’s death, Kobe Bryant in a helicopter crash headed from the southern Los Angeles area to the northern Los Angeles suburbs.

Burnaboy who was nominated for the 2020 edition of the Grammy Awards after an eventful musical year although eventually lost to Beninese singer and songwriter (Angelique Kidjo) has made known his admiration for the superstar amidst his passion for basketball if he wasn’t a musician.

“There’s only one thing more precious than our time and that’s who/ what we spend it on, I always say, if I wasn’t doing music, I would have played basketball, and it’s all because of Kobe”!

Kobe Bryant, 41 Known as the Black Mamba played his entire 20-season professional career in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers was involved in the crash with his 13 years old daughter Gianna and was up for a match at the Mamba Sports Academy in Thousand Oaks for a basketball game scheduled for Sunday afternoon. Bryant was to coach his daughter’s team in the game before the accident in Calabasas.
