In a post on X, the club announced: “Tickets for the international friendly between Venezuela vs Nigeria at @ShellEnergyStdm are live now!” Season ticket holders of both clubs enjoyed exclusive early access on Wednesday, before sales opened to the general public via SeatGeek.
The clash is part of the Super Eagles’ build-up to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
It will be Nigeria’s first-ever appearance at Shell Energy Stadium and a return to Houston for the first time since May 2013, when they played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Mexico shortly after lifting the AFCON title.
The Super Eagles recorded a 3-1 victory over La Vinotinto in Miami back in November 2012.
Head coach Eric Chelle is expected to use the Houston fixture to test new tactics, assess squad depth, and fine-tune strategies ahead of December’s AFCON campaign.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania.
For Venezuela, the game marks a second appearance in Houston in as many years, following their goalless draw against Guatemala at the same venue in March 2024.
La Vinotinto wrapped up their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with defeats to Argentina and Colombia, finishing eighth in the CONMEBOL standings.
For Nigeria, the friendly comes just weeks after their final CAF World Cup qualifiers in October, making it a crucial test of form before continental duty beckons.
