Honorable Sulaimon Ahmed Mainland League Aims At Uniting Grassroot Players And Promoting Talent

The Ojoniyun Sports Centre, Ebutte-meta is the venue to host the U13/15 grassroot mainland league called the Honorable Sulaimon Ahmed Mainland League.

The league was named after honorable Sulaimon due to his heavy impact in discovering talents and promotion of football in the community.

“The league organizers named the league after me due to what I’ve done for sports in the community,” Honorable Sulaimon told Sports247.

“The coaches around the community gathered to organize what we called a mini-league and the aim and objective is to unite the grassroot players, check the talents that we can promote and progress to what have been taught,” he said.

“We hope to promote our local government, that’s the Mainland local government, our coaches in the mainland coaching council and everyone in the community supported it and I’m thankful to the coaches, club management and organizers for the support,” Honorable Sulaimon added.

The league will see twenty U13 teams and sixteen U15 teams trade tackled for glory in their categories which already started yesterday 13th May, 2022.
