Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has rewarded Super Falcons defender, Oluwatosin Blessing Demehin, with ₦30 million and a house at Sunshine Estate, Oba-Ile, Akure, for her exceptional performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where Nigeria emerged champions.
During a civic reception held in Akure on 4th August 2025, the Governor also gifted ₦15 million each to Mary Akinsola, the team’s media officer, and Mary Oduboku, the team’s secretary.

Aiyedatiwa described Demehin, who hails from Ilaje Local Government Area, as a shining example of resilience and discipline.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting youth and developing sports across the state, pledging full backing for Sunshine Stars FC’s return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Demehin, a former Sunshine Queens player, expressed heartfelt gratitude and called for greater investment in women’s football.
The event drew several dignitaries and sports stakeholders.
