Ani Chidozie will take centre stage on Sunday as Niger Tornadoes face Rangers International in an NPFL Matchday 14 showdown at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, a fixture that marks a special homecoming for the Enugu-born midfielder.
Niger Tornadoes head into the clash in strong form, sitting 5th on the NPFL table after an impressive start to the season.

The Minna-based side has picked up one away win and a draw so far and currently boasts the league’s highest goal tally with 17 goals, underlining their growing confidence.
Chidozie, who joined Tornadoes from Enyimba FC, shared his excitement about returning to familiar territory. “I feel so happy touching down in my hometown and playing against my Fatherland club,” he said, beaming with pride.
A key figure in the Ikon Allah midfield, he has played a vital role in the team’s bright campaign and believes Sunday’s match presents another opportunity to showcase their quality. “It’s a great feeling always playing against one of the most successful clubs in Nigeria,” he added.
Despite the emotional significance of the fixture, Chidozie insists the team remains focused and unfazed.
“Nothing changes. We’ll just go on the field and do what we know how to do best,” he assured.
Niger Tornadoes will also draw confidence from their 2-1 away victory against Rangers in this same fixture last season.
With 20 points so far and Rangers just behind them in 7th place with 19 points from 13 matches, the encounter promises to be closely contested.
Chidozie remains optimistic that the Ikon Allah Boys can secure another positive result, even as Rangers continue to show signs of resurgence in the league.
