“Home-based Players Will Have Equal Opportunities During My Tenure”– Jose Peseiro

Newly appointed Super Eagles technical adviser Jose Peseiro has given assurance to the players plying their trade in the NPFL of equal opportunities to be part of the national team setups.

There had been calls for NPFL players to be involved more in the national team over the years with former coach, Gernot Rohr inviting a few number to the national team.

While speaking to Oma Sports, the Portuguese pledged to give equal opportunities to both local and foreign players to be part of the team setups under his reign.

“The national team is open for everybody. Players who play locally, and outside the country. The ones from the academy, it’s open for everyone. But they need to know that first, they need to have quality. Second, demand and third, passion. If they can have these three points, they can play here,”Peseiro said.

Eight home-based players are currently in the team’s camp for the Nigeria friendly matches against Mexico and Ecuador.
