Holiday Soccer Tourney Excites Organisers In Lagos

Organisers of the ongoing U-15 Holiday Soccer Tourney have expressed their delight that all the participating teams have lived up to expectations in terms of standard of play and maintaining rules and regulations guiding the competitions.

The tourney which is being sponsored by Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Dr Kayode Adejare Omiyale commenced last week at Evansquare football sports center, Ebute- Metta, Lagos.

Chairman Organizing Committee Taofeek Ganiu said the holiday soccer tourney was designed to keep the young players busy around Yaba and its environs during their school holiday. Ganiu said the participating teams were selected based on their football pedigree saying that beautiful goals were scored and the young players showed their God given talents to the admiration of their fans.

“Honestly the holiday soccer tourney has really lived up to expectations because a lot of football fans were impressed with the performance of these young lads since the tourney stated a week ago. I want to use this medium to thank our council boss for this initiative because a programme like this helps us to discover more talents in mainland and I think the council boss deserves an applause for sponsoring a competition that brings clubs together in Yaba and its environs,” he said.

In the matches played Frida, Lifeback lost 1-3 to Badru FC, while, Living Legend walloped Santos 3-0.
