HFN VP Alhaji Bodinga Mourns Death Of Rima Queens Coach

The Vice President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Alhaji Aminu Bala Bodinga have expressed shock over the death of the assistant coach of Rima Queens Coach Nasiru Mainasara.

The late Coach Mainasara, who was part of the success story of the emergence of Rima Queens in the Ardova Handball Premier League, reportedly lost his life on Friday at the Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto after a brief ailment

Alhaji Bodinga said Coach Mainasara’s death saddened him and it will take a while to recover from it because of the late coach helped in the development of the sport not just in Sokoto state but even across the nation

While also expressing his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late coach Nasiru Mainasara, the HFN Vice President also urged for prayers for the family of the deceased

On behalf of Sokoto State Handball Family and Handball Federation of Nigeria, I wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family of late Coach Nasiru Mainasara, who passed away early hours of Friday 28th July, 2023 after a brief ailment at Usman Danfodio University Teaching Hospital Sokoto”

“I am particularly saddened about Coach Mainasara’s death because of the indelible mark he has left in his quest to grow handball at the grassroots not just in Sokoto state but across the nation

“It must be said he will be surely missed not just by the Sokoto State handball family but the entire Nigeria handball family and we pray for Almighty Allah to forgive his short comings and give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost” Alhaji Bodinga said.

The late Coach Nasiru Mainasara, who died at the age of 31 years of age, played as pivot in the Rima handball club set up from the under 12 through to the under 20 level before playing for Rima Strikers.

He then successfully coached Rima Queens in the under 12 and under 15 level winning titles at the National Under 12/15 Handball Championship before he was appointed as the assistant coach for Rima Queens

The late Coach Nasiru Mainasara, who reportedly died at 3am on Friday morning while been treated for Typhoid and Malaria at the Usman Dan Fodio University teaching hospital, wasn’t married until his death and is survived by his father and mother.
