The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) has confirmed a slight adjustment in the schedule for the 2025 Ardova Handball Premier League Phase 2, set to take place later this month in Lagos.
In a statement signed by HFN Secretary General, Mrs. Monica Otumala, the second phase of Nigeria’s elite handball competition — proudly sponsored by Ardova PLC — will now hold from November 24 to December 6, 2025, instead of the earlier announced dates of November 25 to December 7, 2025.

According to Mrs. Otumala, teams are expected to arrive on Monday, November 24, with matches kicking off on Tuesday, November 25, and running through Friday, December 5. Departure for teams has been slated for Saturday, December 6, 2025.
She added that the venues remain unchanged — the NIS Indoor Sports Hall, Surulere, and Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba, both in Lagos.
While apologizing for any inconvenience caused by the change, Mrs. Otumala urged all participating clubs to step up preparations and ensure complete documentation and player registration by November 10, 2025.
“This is to inform all participating clubs of a slight change in the 2nd phase of the 2025 Ardova Handball Premier League. The event will now run from November 24 to December 6, 2025,” Mrs. Otumala stated.
Phase 1 of the league was held earlier in Benin City, Edo State, in July 2025. After the first round, Safety Shooters and Safety Babes, both teams representing the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), lead the men’s and women’s categories respectively.
In the men’s division, Safety Shooters top the table with 28 points and a +91 goal difference, closely followed by COAS Shooters with the same points but a +50 goal difference. Rima Strikers occupy third with 25 points, while defending champions Tojemarine HC sit fourth on 24 points.
On the women’s side, Safety Babes — unbeaten since 2022 and chasing a fifth consecutive league title — lead with 21 points, followed by Rima Queens (19 points), Plateau Peacocks (15 points), Imo Grasshoppers (14 points), and newcomers Soof Omo Ogiefo HBC rounding out the top five with 13 points.
The Lagos phase promises to deliver thrilling action as teams battle for the 2025 Ardova Handball Premier League crown.
