Gusau, who was represented by the Chairman of the Nigeria National League (NNL) and NFF Executive Board Member, George Aluo, delivered the message during a thanksgiving Mass held at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Surulere.

The NFF President commended Adeboye for his remarkable contributions to grassroots sports development and his enduring commitment to empowering young Nigerians through football.

Adeboye, who owns Smart City Football Club, an NNL side, has been widely recognised for providing opportunities for youths to discover purpose and direction in life through sports.

Speaking on behalf of the NFF President, Aluo described Adeboye as a man whose passion for grassroots development has continued to inspire growth and positive change in communities.

“He’s a man of influence and a super-driver of change with his tenacity and knack for success,” Gusau said.

“We are happy that the SSA to President Bola Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development is celebrating a remarkable milestone in his life. His passion for sparking positive growth from the grassroots has made him a key figure in youth empowerment through sports.”

Gusau also noted that Adeboye’s work aligns strongly with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in creating opportunities for young people and keeping them engaged through productive sporting activities.

The thanksgiving celebration attracted several notable personalities from the sports community, including Ogun State Football Association Chairman and NFF Executive Board Member, Ganiyu Majekodunmi, former international and ex-Lagos FA Chairman Waidi Akanni, NNL Chairman’s Media Aide Tayo Ogunseye, traditional rulers, sports federation presidents, journalists and other well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the grassroots sports advocate.
