Heartland Queens Gaffer, Benjamin Nwoke Urges Players To Target Victory Against Rivers Angels, Salutes Them For Great Team Spirit In Draw With Defending Champions, Bayelsa Queens

Technical adviser of Heartland Queens of Owerri, Prince Benjamin Nwoke has urged his players to go all out for victory when they return to action in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) on January 4, 2023, against Rivers Angels at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Heartland Queens were drawn bye on match-day four, but have been training ahead of their return to action, and Nwoke believes they will be ready to grab a win against Rivers Angels.

“We have been training hard, and I have told my players that it is time for business. The match against Rivers Angels is a new beginning for us.

“I just took over the team less than two months ago, and I am glad they now understand my philosophy and pattern. You can see that from the game against Bayelsa Queens on match-day three.”

Speaking further, Nwoke applauded his players for the great show of team spirit and commitment in the goalless draw against defending champions, Bayelsa Queens in Yenagoa, recently, and called for the same character in subsequent games.

“The result shocked many people, but to me, it’s not a shock because I believe in my players. I was very impressed with how they played and managed the game against the third best team in Africa.

“Kudos to the girls for that kind of performance, and I trust them to spring up some more surprises in other away matches”.

Heartland Queens are yet to win a game after three games this season, but Benjamin Nwoke believes things will change soon.

“We know that we are bottom of Group A at the moment, but there’s much to play and we will give everything from our next game against Rivers Angels.”
