Heartland Queens will be the guests of oriental neighbours, Abia Angels in topflight preseason derby on Wednesday, March 04, at the Umuahia Township Stadium.
The two elite league campaigners battled themselves to an energy sapping goalless draw in the first build-up matchup on Wednesday, February 26 at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri.
Both teams are using the top test match to assess their players’ readiness for the upcoming abridged style 2019/20 Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) due to kick-off on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
The Owerri landladies will compete for laurel in Group B alongside multiple champions, Rivers Angels, Adamawa Queens, Delta Queens, FC Robo Queens, Ibom Angels, Osun Babes and newcomers, Royal Queens while the Umuahia ladies are pitched in Group A with reigning champions, Bayelsa Queens, Confluence Queens, Dreamstars Ladies, Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Sunshine Queens and top-flight returnees, Pelican Stars.
The Owerri side will open her title campaign at South-South neighbours, Ibom Angels on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at the ‘Nest of Champions’ Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
