Emotions ran high as Uzo Ezeobi Jr., the towering Nigerian center-back, reflected on a dream come true after helping FC Barau secure a historic promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the very first time.
Barau FC sealed their spot in the top flight with a commanding 2–0 victory over Doma United in the final match of the NNL Super 8 playoffs.

Reacting to the achievement, Ezeobi said:
“For me I am short of word but with this… I now believe that hard work pays. I still don’t know what to say because it has always been my dream playing at the very top level in the league. With this accomplishment, I am so happy… I am ready to do more.”
The 27-year-old defender, known for his aerial strength, tackling precision, and vocal leadership, was instrumental throughout Barau’s campaign—bringing stability and confidence to a squad full of youthful energy.
