The Nigerian forward, who featured for 82 minutes, opened the scoring for Reims in the 43rd minute, finishing calmly after being set up by Sergio Akieme.

The goal marked Umar’s sixth of the league season, further highlighting his growing influence in the team’s attacking line.

Reims went into the break with a narrow advantage, but Rodez responded after the restart. The visitors found the equaliser when Nolan Galves delivered the assist for Mehdi Baaloudj, who finished well to make it 1–1 and bring his side back into the contest.

The match took a dramatic turn late on when Reims were reduced to 10 men after Abdoul Koné was shown a red card shortly after full time had been reached. The decision handed Rodez a crucial opportunity to snatch victory.

Moments later, Tairyk Arconte stepped up to the spot and converted the resulting penalty, sealing a late win for Rodez and completing a frustrating turnaround for the home side.

Despite the disappointing result, Umar’s goal continues a productive run for the Nigerian striker, who has been steadily contributing in front of goal for Reims this season.

His sixth strike of the campaign further underlines his importance in the team’s attacking setup as the Ligue 2 season progresses.
