Nigeria will face Rwanda in their final Group A fixture at the 2025 Handball Africa Cup of Nations (HAFCON) on Saturday, January 24, 2026, as the West Africans look to maintain their perfect record and seal top spot in the group.

The Nigerians have been dominant so far, posting a combined scoreline of 61–41 across their first two games, underlining their status as one of the tournament’s strongest sides.

Nigeria currently lead the group ahead of Algeria, who sit second with two points from two matches.

Rwanda are third, also on two points, while Zambia remain bottom of the table without a point after two defeats.

With qualification already assured, Nigeria will be keen to finish the group stage unbeaten and carry momentum into the knockout rounds.

A victory against Rwanda would not only secure maximum points but also reinforce their credentials as genuine title contenders heading into the quarter-finals.
Rwanda, however, still have plenty to play for.

The East Africans recorded one win and one loss in their first two outings and will be aiming to upset the group leaders to improve their final standing and confidence ahead of the classification or playoff matches.

Group A Standings (after two matches):

Nigeria – 4 points (61–41)

Algeria – 2 points (69–50)

Rwanda – 2 points (55–65)

Zambia – 0 points (37–66)

At the end of the group stage, teams tied on points will be separated by head-to-head results, adding extra significance to the Nigeria–Rwanda clash.

As the competition intensifies, all eyes will be on Nigeria to see if they can complete a flawless group campaign and continue their push for continental glory.
