GSM Tennis Championship: Gbenga Adewusi Lauds Makinde on Youth Developmental Strides

Chairman, Oyo State Sports Council, Honourable Gbenga Adewusi has eulogized the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde on various developmental programs on sports for the youths.

Oyo State Council Boss stated this while fielding questions from newsmen at the just concluded Governor Seyi Makinde Tennis Championship held at Ibadan Recreation Club saying the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde led administration is to make the state a hub of talents of world-beaters.

“This kind of competition is a good omen to the people of Oyo state and will certainly go a long way in fishing out budding talents that would turn a world beater”

“When you have a good leader at the helm of affairs, you should expect the followers to follow suit and that is why the Special Assistant on Sports Development, Honourable Tobi Oyewumi is organizing this competition” Former Local Government Council Boss submitted.

On the forthcoming National Sports Festival and the projection of the council, the Ibadan-born politician assured the state of better performance different from the 8th position the state was in Abuja 2018. He also affirmed that different sporting activities would be coming up at Adamasingba to engage the youths once the remodeling of the edifice is completed.

“I think it’s obvious for the blind to see that Governor Seyi Makinde is a Sports loving Governor and we could all see the remodeling of Adamasingba stadium. As for the next National Sports Festival, we are going to have a decent outing different from the last position” Arole enthusiastically concluded.

The maiden edition of the GSM Tennis Championship started on Tuesday 22nd December and ended Thursday 24th December 2020 have a total number of one hundred and twelve participants, with all the players in the PRO category going home with cash prizes.
