Expressing his satisfaction, Ogunmodede remarked, “It’s a great feeling for us. Imagine on the note we started the league with, our intention is to be on top of the table at the first round, but information reaching me now, I think we are probably second on the table, and it is not too bad.”

Despite falling short of their initial goal to lead the table at the halfway point, Ogunmodede remains optimistic and sees the team as still very much in contention for the title.

Reflecting on the challenging moments in the game against Abia Warriors, where Remo Stars initially led 2-0 before conceding a goal, Ogunmodede admitted to feeling a sense of panic. He acknowledged the resilience of his players in withstanding the pressure and commended their ability to secure the victory.

“I must elude the courage of our players, that they were resilient, stopping the attack that they threw at us,” said the coach. Despite Abia Warriors’ late dominance, Remo Stars showcased class and secured the vital three points.

Looking ahead to the second round of the NPFL season, Ogunmodede outlined the team’s expectations with a clear goal in mind. “Our expectation is to be on top of the table by the end of the season.

That is the expectation,” he asserted. Determined to surpass their performance from the previous season, Ogunmodede views anything short of progress as a failure.

He emphasized the team’s commitment to continuous improvement and showcasing their class on the field.

As Remo Stars gears up for the challenges of the second half of the NPFL season, Ogunmodede’s optimism and focus on clinching the top spot highlight the team’s ambitious aspirations and hunger for success.
