Great Avengers defeated P Football Academy 6-5 in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 regulation time draw to emerge winners of the 2023 Delta State FA League at the Kwale Township Stadium on Thursday.

Coach of Great Avengers Football Academy, Emeka Obilo said he respects PF Academy for their discipline and focus but attributed his victory to his side’s experience and oneness.
“Penalty kicks are no man’s game as the winner can be any team even though I strongly believe my boys played to instructions”.

Coach Samuel of Mighty Wonderers FC who defeated Ndame Academy 2-0 to Claim the second position commended the DFA board members for putting up a very organized competition without a sponsor but with aggressive publicity.

The winner of the 2023 Delta State FA League went home with 1 million naira, Runners Up (PF Academy) cart home 500 thousand naira, while 3rd placed (Mighty Wonderers) got 300 thousand naira leaving 4th position, Ndame Academy with 200 thousand naira.
