Grassroots Mobilisation Earns SSA Adeboye Appointment as Director, Team Lagos of PBAT-KOH Independent Campaign Group

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Adeyinka Anthony Adeboye, has been appointed Director, Team Lagos of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat Independent Campaign Group (PBAT-KOH-ICG).

The appointment, conveyed in an official letter signed by the Director-General of the Independent Campaign Group, Hon. Fatai Ayoola, is in recognition of Hon. Adeboye’s outstanding record in grassroots mobilisation, unwavering loyalty, proven leadership, organizational competence, and strategic contributions to community development.

According to the appointment letter, the campaign organization expressed absolute confidence in Hon. Adeboye’s ability to provide leadership for Team Lagos, spearhead grassroots initiatives, unify stakeholders, and mobilize robust support across Lagos State in advancing the vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.

The letter further acknowledged that Hon. Adeboye’s experience as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroots Sports Development places him in a unique position to drive effective grassroots engagement and strengthen community participation.

Reacting to the appointment, Hon. Adeboye described it as a call to greater service and an opportunity to further contribute to nation-building through people-oriented engagement.

“I am deeply honoured by the confidence reposed in me by the leadership of the PBAT-KOH Independent Campaign Group. I accept this responsibility with humility and a strong sense of duty. Grassroots mobilisation has always been at the heart of sustainable development, and I remain committed to engaging our people, strengthening stakeholder relationships, and supporting initiatives that promote unity, progress, and inclusive development.”

The Presidential aide reaffirmed that his primary responsibility remains the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate on grassroots sports development, noting that his office is currently intensifying efforts to expand sports infrastructure, talent discovery, youth empowerment, and strategic partnerships across Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas.

He emphasized that sports remain one of the strongest platforms for promoting national unity, youth engagement, economic empowerment, and community development, adding that the Renewed Hope Agenda provides a unique opportunity to reposition grassroots sports as a catalyst for national transformation.

“This appointment further strengthens my resolve to continue serving with integrity, commitment, and excellence. Whether through sports development or community mobilisation, our focus remains on creating opportunities for young people, empowering communities, and supporting the vision of Mr. President for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.”

Hon. Adeboye pledged to work closely with the leadership of the Independent Campaign Group, traditional institutions, youth groups, women associations, professionals, and community stakeholders across Lagos State to ensure effective grassroots engagement and sustained public participation.

He also expressed appreciation to the Director-General of the campaign organization, Hon. Fatai Ayoola, and the entire leadership of the PBAT-KOH Independent Campaign Group for the trust and confidence reposed in him.

The appointment further underscores Hon. Adeboye’s growing reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading grassroots mobilisers, whose commitment to youth development, community engagement, and sports advancement continues to attract recognition beyond the sports sector.
