“Congratulations to Team Brazil, and to Timmy Hansen and Leva Millere-Hagin, for a well-deserved victory after an exciting weekend of racing on our waters at the E1 Lagos GP,” the Governor said.

He emphasized that beyond the thrill of competition, the event showcased Lagos’s commitment to sustainability and technological advancement. “The E1 Lagos GP represented our city’s commitment to innovation, clean energy, and sustainable development,” he noted. “It was inspiring to see Lagos take its place on the global stage as a city that embraces progress and possibility.”

Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed pride in the success of the event and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to positioning Lagos as a forward-thinking city that welcomes new ideas and global opportunities. “I am proud of what we achieved this weekend and even more confident about the future we are building for Lagos,” he stated.

The E1 Lagos GP was part of the global E1 Electric Boat Racing Championship—the world’s first all-electric powerboat racing series—bringing together top teams and drivers from around the world. Lagos became the first African city to host the competition, joining the ranks of major global cities such as Monaco, London, Venice, and Jeddah.
