Nigeria’s women wrestlers continued their dominant run at the 2025 African Wrestling Championships as Ebi Biogos captured the fifth gold medal of the evening, defeating Rosie Tabora of Congo (COD) with a confident 12–5 victory in the 72kg final.

Biogos showed strength, stamina, and superior tactics in a thrilling contest that capped a near-perfect night for the women’s team.
“I came into this match ready to give it everything, and I’m proud to bring home gold for Nigeria,” said a smiling Biogos after the bout.
Her win follows earlier triumphs by Khadijat Idris, Mercy Genesis, Jumoke Adekoye, and Ebipatei Moghenbofa, as Nigeria continues to dominate the continental stage.
With five golds from five women’s finals, Team Nigeria’s performance is setting a new benchmark at this year’s championships.
