Former Nigeria international Godwin Okpara has advised Nigerians to prepare for all possible outcomes as the country awaits a decision from FIFA over the petition against Democratic Republic of Congo.
Reacting to the prolonged wait for a ruling, Okpara said the uncertainty surrounding the case has become a distraction, warning fans not to pin their hopes solely on a favourable outcome.

“At this point, Nigerians should be ready for both the good and the bad,” Okpara said.
“The waiting has become a distraction because nobody truly knows what our chances are.”
The former defender urged supporters and stakeholders to manage expectations, noting that disappointment could follow if the verdict does not go Nigeria’s way.
“It’s better for fans to move on mentally and focus on the future, rather than banking everything on a decision that may not favour us,” he added. “If it comes out positive, fine.
If not, we must be strong enough to accept it and move forward.”
Okpara’s comments echo growing calls for Nigerian football authorities to prioritise long-term planning and preparation, regardless of the outcome of the FIFA ruling
