Glory Ogbonna Opens Goal Account, Propels Besiktas To First League Win

Super Falcons defender, Glory Ogbonna scored her first goal of the Turkish Women Football League season as Beşiktaş defeated Fatih Vatan Spor on Sunday afternoon.

The Nigeria international who is currently in her second season with the club scored from a rebound in the 88th minute to give Besiktas their first win of the season.

The former Edo Queens defender hailed her teammates for the spirited performance as she looks forward to more.

“It was a great game, I’m happy to score my first goal, I believe this will boost our confidence going into other games.”

Her compatriot, Vivian Ikechukwu had opened the scoring in the 8th minute to give the home side the lead.

Fatih Vatan Spor levelled in the 54th minute through Fatma Atas.

The Black and White ladies have now moved up to seventh on the table with four points from three matches.
