Nigerian striker Gift Orban delivered a sensational impact off the bench as Hellas Verona secured a crucial 2–1 victory over Fiorentina in Serie A, with the forward scoring twice to earn the Man of the Match award.
The visitors were forced into an early change in the 35th minute when Giovane Nascimento picked up an injury and was replaced by Gift Orban, a substitution that would go on to define the contest.
Verona took the lead in the 42nd minute through Orban, who announced his presence in style. The Nigerian forward received a pass from Al-Musrati and unleashed a powerful right-footed strike from outside the box, beating the goalkeeper to give the visitors a deserved 1–0 advantage before halftime.
