Gernot Rohr: I am not doing my job because of money

Nigeria Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr has declared that he did not accept the Super Eagles job because of monetary satisfaction.

Sports 247 reports that the German tactician has finally accepted to sign the dotted lines of the contact offered to him by the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF.

In an interview on ESPN today, Rohr stated that he accepts all the terms on the contract.

“I have to accept to be paid in naira and I have to be resident in Nigeria. I agree to these two things and even I agree to have a lower salary. I am not doing my job for money. I am doing my job because I like it, because we’ve built a team and money is not the most important.”

The 67 year old gaffer reiterated that his work with the national team is not done.

“I accept because I think that my mission in Nigeria is not finished yet, and I know very well my players. I know very well the officials. We are now just like a family.”

There had been commotion over the new terms of contract offered to Rohr by the Pinnick led NFF but both parties look to have now settled their differences.
