Georgia Oboh Turns Attention Toward Australia

Nigeria’s vastly-promising teenage female golfer, Georgia Oboh has turned her attention on the ActewAGL Classic in Canberra, Australia, as she aims to consolidate on her recent strides in South Africa.

Although she eventually failed to break the top-20 mark after two back-to-back competitions in Nelson Madela’s country, sports247.ng learnt that Oboh is still beaming with confidence, as she heads Down Under.

OIn Australia, Oboh, who is the the first Nigerian lady professional golfer on the LET after scaling through the qualifying school at the Lalla Meryem Tour School in Morocco in December last year, will aim to get her biggest finish yet on the international circuit.

That would be her target, as she seeks to improve on her recent 27th position finish at the 2019 Ladies European Tour (LET) and Women Masters in Durban, South Africa.

Oboh enthused that making her first cut on the LET Tour is a huge boost for her, as she heads to Australia for the ActewAGL Classic at the Royal Canberra Golf Club.

The 18-year-old golfer further acknowledged that her outing in Durban was an improvement, as she had been on the verge of missing the cut at San Lameer Golf Club, Durban, until she rallied to make the draw with a day two round of 73 after an opening 80.
After placing 27th in the field of 76 players, Oboh now aims to make an even bigger impact on her debut at the ActewAGL Classic in Canberra.
