While further revealing the next target for she and her teammates, who also made history together in forming the first ever women’s football team to represent the selected contingent of talented youths from across the country in any edition of the National Sports Festival, Adebayo confessed that the win over Delta State gave her a moment to cherish forever.

“I feel happy because it’s our first goal as a team. I feel happy about how the ball went in. I just picked my angle and hit the ball hard … and I’m happy it went in. For our next game, we are going to come out harder,” Adebayo retorted.

Sports247 reports further that the victorious team, whose players form the core of Nigeria’s female under-17 squad, Flamingos, are part of the maiden 38th contingent attending this year’s edition of the sports festival, known as Gateway Games 2025 … alongside the FCT and all 36 states of the federation.
